Seasonal flowers

Welcome to Springhill, a floral market garden located on beautiful, historic St. Joseph Island. From May to September we grow a large variety of spring bulbs, focal flowers and foliage for subscriptions, events and local florists. From garden classics like cosmos, snapdragons and sunflowers, to specialty tulips, eucalyptus, ranunculus, lisianthus and dahlias, we are committed to growing flowers in a sustainable manner, one that nourishes our pollinator population and the soil we grow in. These are flowers you can feel good about sharing!

Bouquet subscriptions

Bouquet subscriptions offer the best of what’s in-bloom, delivered regularly to subscribers throughout the growing season. Visit the Shop to learn more about spring & summer subscriptions, or stop by the FAQ page for additional information.

Event flowers & custom orders

Interested in locally-grown flowers for your special event? With proper planning we can grow a custom palette of blooms to fit your theme. In need of flowers for a special occasion? During the growing season we offer flowers for special delivery outside our bouquet subscriptions. Simply visit the Shop and fill out a custom bouquet request form.

Everlastings

Many of our blooms are grown specifically for drying. Flowers such as statice, strawflower, dusty miller, eucalyptus, amaranth, sunflowers and larkspur, as well as many grains and grasses, maintain their colour beautifully as they dry and age. Whether for crafting or home decor, we offer dried flower bunches, large bouquets, bud vase arrangements and more. Visit our Everlastings page in the shop to view an ever-changing selection of locally-grown and dried florals for your project, or send us an email if looking for something in particular. We’d love to help!

Botanicals

Pollenation began in 2013 as a small-batch natural skincare line. Since the beginning, simplicity has been the guiding force when formulating products. Using pure, natural ingredients known for their abilities to protect, heal and nurture the body's largest organ, the goal is to create skincare products that are beautifully simple without sacrificing efficacy.

Products are handcrafted in small batches, using thoughtfully-chosen ingredients known for their restorative properties. Pollenation products will always be free of harmful synthetics, and packed full of unrefined, cold-processed plant, nut and fruit-based oils and butters, steam-distilled essential oils, wildcrafted/organic herbs and flowers, and Ontario beeswax.

Please note that our Garden Apothecary is currently on hiatus. We’re on a mission to reduce our contribution to the world’s “plastic problem,” by sourcing packaging that fully supports this vision.

I created Pollenation Blooms (now Springhill farm & floral) because of my deep love and appreciation for the beauty of flowers and nature.

Our cut flower garden is affectionately named “Lille,” after the Estonian word for flower. My family and I were fortunate to live in the tiny eastern European country for one year (on a street called Lille), and it was during this time that I was finishing my horticulture training through the University of Guelph and wondering how this next chapter in my life would unfold. I had come to love gardening in the years prior and the process of growing plants from seed, and knew wholeheartedly that a life in the garden was the way forward.

In Tartu I was inspired by the women who would line the pedestrian walkway outside “Kaubamaja,” their tables adorned with small jars of sweet peas and dianthus, buckets filled with bright and cheery sunflowers, lilies and zinnias. I soon realized that treating oneself to flowers wasn’t an indulgence but rather a necessary balm for the soul, something that brought joy and a reminder that the simplest things in life always bring us the most fulfillment. Suddenly the path ahead seemed much clearer…

Now here we are, heading into our fifth year of business and continuing to grow more and more each year. And while running Springhill is a dream come true for this flower-loving girl, the truth is it wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of my family; my husband, who helps turn my ideas into reality, and my sons, who help me plant, harvest and deliver flowers to our many subscribers.

My hope is that the flowers we grow here will bring you and your loved ones the same joy I feel cultivating their beauty.
